Former Sri Lankan all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya has been appointed as the full-time coach of the Sri Lanka men’s cricket team. He will remain in this role till March 2026. The T20 World Cup is also to be held in February-March 2026. Jayasuriya has been the interim coach of Sri Lanka since July. Seeing the good performance of the team under his guidance, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has appointed Jayasuriya as the full-time coach. In the last two months under the coaching of 55-year-old Jayasuriya, Sri Lanka has defeated India in the ODI series, England in the Test match and New Zealand in the Test series.
