Due to lack of agreement, crores of rupees of 10 lakh Indians are stuck in US Treasury

A serious issue has been pending between India and America for a long time. It is directly related to Indian employees working in America under H-1B and L-1 work visas. More than 10 lakh Indians working in America are facing the brunt of the lack of a totalization agreement between the two countries and Indians are losing crores of rupees every month. Actually, under the US social security law, 6.2% of the salary of Indian employees is deducted as tax (like PF). However, this amount is returned to the employees after the age of 67 years. But the problem arises when Indian employees return to the country before this or are not able to become American citizens. In this situation, they do not get any benefit from this fund. This money remains deposited in the US Treasury.
