Exports grew 0.5% in September, but imports grew 1.6%

New Delhi | The country’s merchandise exports have registered a marginal increase in September after two months of decline. Exports rose 0.5 percent to $ 34.58 billion in September. At the same time, the trade deficit narrowed to $ 20.78 billion. According to government data released on Wednesday, imports grew 1.6 percent to $ 55.36 billion in September, which was $ 54.49 billion in September 2023. India’s merchandise exports declined 9.3 percent year-on-year in August and 1.2 percent in July.
